The Argentinian superstar with a record salary in the league.

Inter Miami superstar Leo Messi is Major League Soccer’s highest-paid footballer, with a league-record annual guaranteed salary of 20 million dollars, from the league shared today.

That features just Lionel’s salary. A few months ago, Inter co-owner Jorge Mas revealed the Argentina international total compensation, which includes a cut from the league’s Apple TV deal, is between 50 to 60 million dollars.

Leo’s mid-campaign arrival, along with that of ex-Barcelona teammates  Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, put the club from Florida to the top of Major League Soccer side salary rankings, with total guaranteed compensations of almost 40 million dollars. That is double the sum that Inter Miami spent in the past campaign.

The Argentinian salary is the highest in the league’s history, topping  Toronto FC’s Lorenzo Insigne, who is in 2nd place with almost 15.5 million dollars. The Chicago Fire’s Xherdan Shaqiri is 3rd in that list with a little over 8 million dollars.
