Casemiro got his second red card of the season

Manchester United had second straight disappointment in the English Premier League as they failed to win against Southampton, finishing in a goalless draw.

The Red Devils had to play with one less man as their star midfielder Casemiro was sent off at the 34th minute.

Marcus Rashford had the first clear chance to score, but his shot was easily saved by Gavin Bazunu. Later on Theo Walcott evaded his marker to plant a firm header towards De Gea, but the keeper stretched to make the save.

A little over half an hour of plat Casemiro slid very dangerously for the ball and fouled an opponent. At first the referee showed him a yellow card, but VAR called and pointed out that the challenge is worthy of a red, which left United in ten men.

15 minutes before full time Marcus Rashford broke into the box and went over after a challenge, but Anthony Taylor shook his head “No” after penalty appeals.

Manchester United are now winless two rounds in a row after humiliating 0-7 last week from Liverpool and stay third at 50 points – 16 away from leader Arsenal.
