Alexander Isak will return to training with Liverpool, his manager Arne Slot revealed today.
The Reds paid 125 million pounds to Newcastle for the forward, but he has been sidelined since the end of 2025, having fractured his leg and undergone an ankle procedure.
The former Newcastle star has appeared in 16 games and scored 3 times for the club from Anfield before suffering injury vs. Spurs.
“I believe Isak is very happy, because his country qualified for the World Championship and he is joining his teammates for training for the 1st time tomorrow,” Arne shared.
“If you did your best for 3, 4 months and then return to the group, that’s an amazing feeling for each footballer. So, because of that, Alexander is in good spirits.”
The Reds are preparing to play against Man City in the ¼ finals of the FA Cup at Etihad this weekend.
The Reds inked the striker from the Magpies for a British record transfer fee in the past autumn. However, Isak has been out since December 20th as he sustained his leg problem against Tottenham, as the Swedish forward scored before that and his team won 2-1.
