The Rams head coach talked about the Tutu trade.

LA Rams boss Sean McVay revealed that the trade for WR Tutu Atwell had “nothing to do” with a possible ban for a 2-time Pro Bowl receiver, Puka Nacua.

The Rams manager, talking about his team’s preseason finale vs. the Chargers, claimed that Tutu adds depth to that role.

“Adding Atwell is about to have depth at that position, and he can give us different things,” Sean shared. “It has nothing to do with anything else, as he is a fantastic player and we are happy that he is with us now.”

During the offseason, a woman in LA filed a lawsuit against Puka that alleged he made an “unprovoked antisemitic statement” toward her and later bit her on the shoulder. Last month, Sean shared that his receiver’s situation is “ongoing” and that the organization is still gathering information and communicating with the NFL.

Los Angeles acquired Atwell in exchange for RB Jarquez Hunter. Tutu returns to the franchise that drafted him in the 2nd round 5 years ago. The wide receiver had spent his 1st 5 years with the Rams before inking a 1-year, 1.4 million deal with the Dolphins.
