The LA Rams only started their trip only 28 hours before the start of the game, and they flew back out with their Super Bowl aspirations in disarray after getting blown away in a historic campaign opener.
Mike Evans, Demarcus Robinson, and Deebo Samuel caught TD passes from Brock Purdy, and the 49ers defeated the Rams 27-7.
Brock passed for 205 yards vs. Los Angeles’ ineffective defense at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of over 100,000 fans, the 7th-largest regular-campaign crowd in league history.
“Without a doubt, we made the right choice by coming here a few days before the kickoff,” shared Evans, who caught 6 passes in an elite San Francisco debut. “That helped us to get acclimated. All the media attacked it. We said nothing. We actually enjoyed spending time here.”
