With the transfer window closed until the next calendar year, Arsenal are now in the process of finalizing an agreement with boss Mikel Arteta over his protracted new deal.
Talks to extend the Spaniard’s contract have progressed recently, and everyone at the club doesn’t doubt Arteta will renew.
Indeed, Mikel moved unequivocally in August to remove any lingering doubt over his future: “Everyone knows that the timing of the deal is not going to be a problem, because I enjoy being the manager of this club and see myself doing that in the future.
“My feeling for Arsenal is the same. That is why everything happens so naturally here. “
Similarly, the Gunners chief executive Richard Garlick has claimed it was merely a “matter of time” before Mikel’s new long-term contract was announced.
The Spaniard can expect to become 1 of the best-paid head coaches in the world once he inks his new deal. The North London club committed to significantly improving on his current contract – worth 10 million pounds a campaign + 5 million pounds extra upon UCL qualification.
