The Reds midfielder is sad about not receiving a contract offer.

Liverpool player Alexis Mac Allister says he is “very sad” he wasn’t offered a new contract and that he had “options” to leave after the season ended.

The midfielder, who inked a 5-year deal from Brighton 3 years ago, saw teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch extend their Liverpool contracts in 2026.

Speaking before the Reds’ UCL match vs. Atletico Madrid tomorrow, Alexis talked about his future at Anfield.

“I received the news that Liverpool is not in a position to offer me a new deal, which, without a doubt, makes me unhappy,” the midfielder started.

“The fans see that I give my all for the Reds daily in training and matches. Of course, sometimes I play well and sometimes don’t perform at 100% like any player, but I always give everything I’ve got.

“I see Szoboszlai and Gravenberch renewing their deals, and I’m happy, as they deserve it.

“At the same time, it makes me wonder why it didn’t happen with me. It makes me sad, but I know there is still time and everything can happen.”
