Liverpool will do everything possible to get their ex-defender Trent Alexander-Arnold back. The Reds have started discussions with Trent’s agents to explore the chance of him returning to the club during the January transfer window, with his time on the pitch with Los Blancos limited and head coach Jose Mourinho leaving him out of his 1st-choice selection.
The English club have already contacted Alexander-Arnold’s entourage and are talking about a move during the winter transfer window on loan after the full-back is not playing regularly for the Royal club.
Trent, who is 28-years-old, has not been having a solid time since his transfer to Real Madrid. The defender has started only 4 of a possible 13 games and slipped to 3rd choice at right-back, behind Federico Valverde and recent arrival Denzel Dumfries from Inter.
Jose turned Federico at right-back even for the derby with Barca, which Los Blancos triumphed 2-1. That choice laid bare how far Trent has fallen in Mourinho’s plans, for all the hopes that Alexander-Arnold had after his transfer to Bernabeu.
The English defender is earning almost 17 million euros per season, and Los Blancos would be willing to offload that huge sum and let him leave.
