Trump defends Infantino and supports him to remain in his position

The U.S. president with public support for the FIFA president.

The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, claims it would be a “terrible mistake” if under-pressure FIFA president Gianni Infantino was ousted from his role.

Donald’s backing after UEFA, Concacaf, and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) shared an open letter accusing the president of FIFA of breaking trust “through deception” with his aborted (FFE) proposal.

Fifa Forward Enterprise would have allowed a new company to be created to manage commercial and ticketing rights of all FIFA competitions, ith 21% sold off to a private investment firm.

That is the 1st time that Trump made a public comment about the scandal surrounding Infantino since the FFE plans were introduced at the end of last month.

“It would be a huge mistake if, for some reason, Gianni Infantino is replaced from his role of FIFA president,” the U.S. president shared.

“Gianni is doing a fantastic job and was part of the most successful World Cup in the history that we hosted. If Infantino is replaced, the tournaments will never be as successful or profitable again.”
