It’s the 2nd consecutive match Joel has missed. The center was a late scratch from Saturday’s clash with 2-time MVP Nikola Jokic in Denver, which caused the NBA to investigate the circumstances of the organization’s injury reporting.
The reigning MVP was not listed on any of the pregame injury reports before the clash against the Nuggets. Sources share that Joel was determined to compete in Denver for the 1st time since 2019, but the team doctors forbid him to participate vs. Denver after they watched him warm up before the match.
Embiid has now missed 12 matches since the beginning of the campaign. If he didn’t play in 5 more, Joel would become ineligible for any postseason National Basketball League awards.
