AC Milan management is very worried about the successive injuries of important players since the beginning of the season. Rafael Leao and Davide Calabria are the latest two players to enter the infirmary since the beginning of this campaign. The directors at the club are not at all satisfied with what is happening and have already raised their sights on fitness coach Matteo Osti. Coach Stefano Pioli is also now under fire because of the club’s unconvincing results recently.
The Rossoneri haven’t won a Serie A game in over a month and their Champions League victory against PSG was their only joy since the October break. In addition, Milan players have already suffered 24 injuries this season and the club’s directors will soon meet Pioli and his team to discuss these matters. CEO Giorgio Furlani is the initiator of this meeting and although the coach does not wish to change members of his staff, the club may decide to remove Matteo Osti, who is the current Rossoneri fitness coach.
Osti was named Serie A’s best fitness coach in 2021-22 as Milan lifted the Scudetto. However, the Rossoneri have suffered too many injuries this campaign, so the club are considering taking immediate action.
At the same time, Pioli’s job is not yet in danger, but according to Tutosport, Milan directors will consider the coach’s position if the Rossoneri fail to win against Fiorentina and Borussia (Dortmund) after the international break. Any failure to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League could prove costly for the Parma-born coach, whose contract at San Siro expires in June 2025.
