Italian Serie A side AC Milan will officially depart from the joint project with city rivals Inter for constructing a new stadium and plan to build their own facility.
Today Milan’s owner Gerry Cardinale will meet with city Mayor Giuseppe Sala, who confirmed the news: “This afternoon I will meet Gerry Cardinale to understand if Milan really want to go to the La Maura area to build their new stadium, and then understand what to do next.”, he said.

Initially the plan was both Milan teams to build a new stadium and share the bills as well as their home games, because San Siro stadium is getting difficult to maintain. The Nerazzuri, though, slowed down the process because of their financial instability and now their city rivals tend to continue separately.
