Alcaraz beats Medvedev in straight sets to win 2024 Indian Wells

Carlos defended his title as he also won the tournament in 2023.

Carlos Alcaraz, world number 2, won against world number 4, Daniil Medvedev 4, 2-0 sets and won for a 2nd straight year the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells as he also defeated the Russian at the final in 2023.

Daniil started the match very well and won the 1st 3 games in the set with 1 break, but Alcaraz initially answered and tied 3-3 games after also winning 3 games in a row with 1 break. Both players didn’t allow more breaks and the 1st set was decided after a tiebreak which the Spaniard won 7-5 points.

In the 2nd set, Alcaraz dominated and converted 2 breaks from 5 chances to triumph in the 2nd set 6-1 and to win the trophy in Indian Wells in straight sets. Carlos didn’t allow Daniil any break chances in the 2nd set.

To lift the trophy, Alcaraz had a comeback victory on Friday against Jannik Sinner as the Spaniard lost the 1st set 6-1 but, after that, won the next 2 sets and advanced to the final.
