The Spaniard continues to have the chance to make the ‘Sunshine Double’ by triumphing at the 2 Masters 1000 tournaments in the USA in March as Alcaraz won Indian Wells on March 17th by defeating Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the final.
Carlos eliminated Carballes Baena in his 1st match in Miami for an hour and 21 minutes, and Alcaraz needed only 1 hour and 15 minutes to get past Monfils.
The Spaniard converted 2 break points from 2 opportunities to close the 1st set 6-2. The world number 2 also converted 2 breaks in the 2nd set and won it 6-4 and will face Lorenzo Musetti in the next round in Miami.
Carlos Alcaraz & Gael Monfils play one of the points of the tournament.
Incredible movement from both.
Ridiculous athleticism from both.
This is what you get when you put the 2 best showmen in tennis on the same court.
Are you not entertained? 🪄
