Carlos Alcaraz came out on top in his 1/4 final match with Holger Rune 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4 to set up a crunch 1/2 final with Russian Danill Medvedev at the Wimbledon.
It was an equal first set, which went down to the wire with Alcaraz edging out in the end.

Rune kept the Spaniard honest throughout the whole match, but the the 20-year-old made very little mistakes and closed out the 2nd and 3rd sets with just a single break in both.
With the result, Alcaraz reaches the 1/2 finals of Wimbledon for the first time in his short career in his only 4th senior tournament on grass.

“For me, it is a dream to be able to play a semi-final here. I think I am playing great, a good level. On this surface, it is crazy,” he said.
The Spaniard next test will be equally as tough as he faces Russia’s top seed Daniil Medvedev – both have one a Grand Slam at the US Open and will be looking to repeat that feat on grass.
In the other 1/2 final Novak Djokovic, who is looking for his record-equaling 8th Wimbledon title, is taking on Italian Jannik Sinner.
