Carlos Alcaraz, the world number 1 in men’s tennis, said he would be happy to head from Cincinnati to New York.
“We fought to the end, but it wasn’t to be! Congratulations for the title, Novak Djokovic!”, Alcaraz wrote on Instagram after losing the final of the tournament in Cincinnati to Novak Djokovic.
“It was an incredible match! I hope you all enjoyed it too! I’m going to NYC happy with my week in Cincinnati!” added the Spaniard, who has an upcoming appearance at the US Open.
Last year he won the title and will have to defend 2,000 points in order to keep his lead in the ATP ranking.
