Alcaraz is ‘full of confidence’ before Medvedev clash

The world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz shared his expectations of his upcoming match with Russian Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

“Medvedev is playing well here on grass and is having a great season. Our first match on grass I lost it. So I have to remember that. But let’s enjoy the semi-finals. I think now I am showing an excellent game, I am full of confidence in my abilities. So we have a great match ahead of us, which I will enjoy,” Alcaraz told a press conference.

He added that the Russian successfully combines all aspects of the game and surprises with how he manages to hit shots.

In the 1/4-final match, Alcaraz defeated Denmark’s Holger Rune in three sets, while Medvedev prevailed over USA’s Eubanks in four sets. The match between Alcaraz and Medvedev will take place on July 14. The other semi-final is Novak Djokovic – Jannik Sinner.
