Carlos Alcaraz won the ATP 500 tournament title in Barcelona after a relatively routine 6:3, 6:4 success in 80 minutes against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The former world No. 1 missed almost six weeks in the start of the 2023 season but has reached finals in his first three tournaments of the campaign since his return – a title in Buenos Aires, a loss in Rio to Cameron Norrie and another trophy in Indian Wells. Now he added another prestigious award, achieved on the Rafael Nadal court in the Catalan capital.
In total, Alcaraz already has 10 titles in his career, losing only three of the finals he reached. It was Carlitos who became the first since Rafael Nadal to defend his trophy from Barcelona, with Rafa, of course, holding the title record with an incredible 12.
