Fernando Alonso has agreed to drive in Formula 1 for Aston Martin in the future with a new multi-year contract; the team shared today.

The Spaniard, who is in 2nd campaign with Aston Martin, will now remain their pilot until at least 2026 when Formula One has a new set of regulations that could affect the competitive order.
Alonso’s team owner, Lawrence Stroll, has invested heavily in the club with the ambition of challenging for the world title and has secured Honda engines from the beginning of 2026.
It was rumored in the past months that Alonso will move to Mercedes to replace Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton, but the ex-world champ appear set on inking Italian youngster Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is currently competing in Formula 2 with Mercedes backing.
Carlos Sainz, who Lewis will replace at the Italian F1 team, is very close to a contract with Sauber as the team will rebrand to Audi in 2026 when the German manufacturer joins Formula 1.
