Alpha Tauri will compete under a new name in Formula 1 next season.
This was reported by Red Bull’s advisor in Formula 1, Dr. Helmut Marko. However, the former driver did not specify what the name of the team from Faenza will be. Up until 2020, the team was called Toro Rosso, and then it was named after Red Bull’s fashion brand.
“In 2024, Alpha Tauri will be led by new leaders – Laurent Mecki and Peter Bayer – says Dr. Marko to the Austrian newspaper Kleinezeitung. – And the team will have new sponsors, as well as a new name. The other change will be that you will use these components and off-the-shelf developments from Red Bull as much as the rules allow.”
“It’s a mistake for Faenza to try to build everything on his own.” Marco added. Yuki Tsunoda is expected to stay, but it is not clear if that also applies to debutant Nick de Vries.
