Roma secured a 2-1 victory over bottom-placed Salernitana in the 22nd round of Serie A action.
The Roman “wolves” currently sit fifth in the standings with 35 points, while Salernitana remains at the bottom with 12 points.
Roma took the lead early in the second half when Giulio Maggiore stopped the ball with his hand in the penalty area in the 49th minute. After VAR confirmation, a penalty was awarded to the Roman side. Paulo Dybala stepped up to the spot, leaving no chance for Guillermo Ochoa with a shot to the bottom left corner.
Rick Karsdorp delivered a ball to Lorenzo Pellegrini in the penalty area, and the Italian sent it into Ochoa’s net for a 2-0 lead.
Salernitana managed to pull one back in the 70th minute. Luka Chaoon crossed the ball into the penalty area, and Grigoris Kastanos headed it close-range into Patricio’s net.
