Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has missed his team’s outing against the Raptors on Saturday night and is in serious doubt whether he will show up in the next couple of weeks after spraining his ankle in Friday’s double-overtime loss to the Bulls.
Head coach Chris Finch told reporters it still unknown how long it will take for Edwards to recover as he still wears a protective boot.
The 21-year old injured his ankle on Friday as he landed awkardly on his standing leg and was escorted to the locker room by medical staff.
Edwards has avaraged a 25 points per game, six rebounds and 4.5 assists. His percentage is 46% from the floor and 36,9% from three-point range. With him sidelined, Minnesota’s chances of clinching a playoff spot drastically decrease as they look to overturn a rather sloppy form, having won only 4 out of their last 10 games.
Minnesota currently sit in 8th place with a game in hand in comparison to the sixth-placed Mavericks with 11 games to the end.
