The Gunners made light use of managereless Palace

Arsenal took full advantage of Manchester City FA Cup duties to move 8 points clear at the top of the Premier League table after effortless display against hapless Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The League leaders were the more persistent side and they struck first right before the half hour mark through Gabriel Martinelli’s left-footed shot.

Bukayo Saka doubled the home team advantage right before the half-time whistle and made their task even more comfortable.

Captain Granit Xhaka made it 3-0 in the 55th minute, before Jeffrey Schlupp pulled one back eight minutes later.

But it proved to be a mere consolation goal as Saka put another one past goalkeeper Joe Whitword to send Palace marching.

With this result Arsenal move to 69 points at the top, 8 clear ahead of City, who have a game in hand.

The Gunners remain favorites to clinch the title (their first since the 2003-04 season) once the Premier League action returns on 1 April after the International break.

More importantly, this victory serves as a morale boost after the bitter Europa League last 16 exit to Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal would need every bit of boost to claim the long-awaited Premier League trophy as Manchester City, despite trailing by 8 points with a game in hand, still remain a menacing side as shown by the Citizen’s latest results.
