After Arsenal’s thrilling and heartbreaking at the same time 3-3 draw with Southampton, the Gunners, on paper at least have faltered behind their title rival Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta’s men are still 5 point clear but with City yet to play two more games it looks as the race has turned into City’s favour.
However, next round will see the two teams face off against each other in what promises to be a title decider and this is where Arsenal must strike back, according to head-coach Arteta.
It would be a monumental achievement, considering the Gunners have failed to win at the Emirates for the last eight years and more importantly, current City form could demoralize even the toughest oppositions out there.
But Arteta had other point of view, when speaking in front of the media.
“I cannot wait,” he said. “These are the games you want to play. When everything is at stake you have to go there to win.
“This young team reacts in a way that is incredible, when it is against the odds, but the chances they created and the spirit they had… it was a joy to watch. The message is clear that I love them.”
Arteta will be hoping the high spirit Arsenal showed in salvaging last night’s point and many other over the course of their incredible season will be enough to neutralize Pep Guardiola’s forces on Wednesday.
