Head coach Mikel Arteta claims this is “only the beginning” of Arsenal’s success after inking a new deal with the EPL champions until 2030.
Arteta’s contract was set to expire at the end of the campaign, with his time at the helm of the Gunners now possibly stretching to a decade after his arrival at the end of 2019.
The new deal features an increase from his current salary of 10 million pounds per season, plus an additional 5 million pounds in extras.
“Arsenal is unique, its character and how it makes you feel, and I’m really honored to continue my journey here,” the Spaniard shared.
“We have already accomplished some of our purposes, and now I’m looking forward to much more than that.”
Mikel has triumphed with the EPL and FA Cup as the boss of the Gunners, losing the UCL final vs. PSG.
Arteta will want to build a dynasty, and the news of his new contract didn’t surprise anyone, as the Spaniard admitted that it is just a matter of time until it becomes official. He won Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 20 campaigns, and that is seen as just the start.
