The Spaniard’s existing contract expires after the end of the upcoming season, and it was initially expected that talks about his new deal would be held at the end of the past campaign.
However, the head coach and the board of the team have prioritized working for the next season 1st and Mikel has assembled 9 footballers not involved in either the European championship in Germany or the Copa America for a training camp in his home country.
Mikel revealed in an interview that he can’t give an update about his deal right now but insisted that he loves his job and he has the full support of the owners, and that it would not be a problem for him to remain at the helm of the North London club beyond the upcoming campaign.
