The Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta shared that he normally picks different players for different matches, including goalkeepers, as he used David Raya instead of Aaron Ramsdale in the 1-0 victory vs. Everton.
David, who inked on a campaign-long loan from Brentford, made his Premier League debut for his new side against Everton.
Ramsdale appeared in the past campaign in all 38 of Arsenal’s Premier League games.
“It’s not anything more than a rotation when that Fabio Vieira started here, or Eddie Nketiah was chosen instead of Gabriel Jesus,” the Gunners manager claimed about his decision.
“Nobody asked me why Gabriel Jesus hasn’t started, and he’s triumphed with more trophies than anyone, including me, in our squad.
“I cannot have 2 quality goalkeepers like this in 1 position and not play 1 of them. Raya has tremendous qualities like Ramsdale and Karl Hein, and we must use them most positively.”
