Aston Martin has started testing its new ‘hypercar’ as the team prepares to make a comeback to the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2025. The British team, managed by the Heart of Racing works team, joins several manufacturers re-entering the World Endurance Championship with the new hypercar class.
Here it is: the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH. The car that’ll scream around Le Mans next year with its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 howling for 24 hours straight. We. Cannot. Wait. 😮 pic.twitter.com/2zm6GUk22L

Two AMR-LMH Valkyries are set to compete in next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. Ferrari’s 499P car won the prestigious race in 2024 for the second consecutive year. Aston Martin’s last overall victory at Le Mans was in 1959, and 2025 marks their first top-tier race since 2011.
Aston Martin will also compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in America, including the Daytona 24 Hours, with their own factory-made chassis. This step further distinguishes them from other returning manufacturers.
Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s head of endurance motorsport, expressed confidence in the new vehicle: “The Valkyrie is a pure, leading-edge racing machine, and while it is very early in the testing cycle, we are satisfied that it is achieving the targets.”
