Ademola Lookman gave the lead to the Bergamo team in the 30th minute after Charles De Ketelaere’s assist. Matteo Ruggeri doubled Atalanta’s lead in the 52nd minute after Ademola Lookman’s assist.
El Bilal Toure, who replaced Ademola Lookman in the 76th minute, scored in the extra time to make it 3-0 and with aggregate score 4-1 the Italian team eliminated the French club from the ½ finals.
In the ¼ finals, the Bergamo side eliminated the biggest favorite in the tournament Liverpool after trashing the Reds 3-0 at Anfield and then losing the 2nd leg only 1-0 in Italy.
For the first time in the club’s 116-year history, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio have reached the final of a major European competition.
