Fisher shared that Vegas relocation applications are filed.

The Oakland Athletics have submitted their application for relocation to MLB, the owner of the franchise shared today, as that put the organization 1 step closer to a new beginning in Las Vegas. What will happen next is in the hands of the Major League Baseball owners.

In his 1st national interview since buying the A’s in 2005, John defended the decision to relocate the organization to numerous factors –the most important one is that the city of Oakland failed to realize its promise to provide public money for the offsite infrastructure at Howard Terminal.

“After a long time, we concluded that Oakland had not raised sufficient funds to cover its commitments,” the owner shared. “We also had a deadline imposed by the collective bargaining agreement from 18 months ago that required the Athletics to have a binding agreement on a new venue by the beginning of the new year, or we would lose our revenue sharing, which would be hugely detrimental to the franchise.”
