Atletico Madrid made a huge step towards the ½ finals of the Champions League after they defeated Barcelona 2-0 in Catalonia and will have a great advantage before the 2nd leg in the Spanish capital.
The crucial moment in the match came in the 44th minute when Pau Cubarsi received a red card and left Barcelona with 10 players on the pitch. Only moments later, Julian Alvarez scored a phenomenal goal from a free kick to give the advantage to the away side.
In the 2nd half, Atletico Madrid scored another one as the goal was netted by Alexander Sorloth in the 70th minute to secure the 1st Atleti victory at Camp Nou in the past 20 years.
This result gives a huge advantage to the Madrid team as they already eliminated Barcelona in the Copa del Rey last month, and now they are very close to doing it again in the Champions League.
Great job, lads! 🔥
