Avdija inks 4-year, 55 million dollar extension with Wizards

The young player (22) secured his rookie scale contract extension ahead of Monday’s deadline for the 2020 NBA draft class players.

Deni, the 9^th overall selection in the class, has made his place in the franchise starting lineup and is expected to have an even more significant role with Washington this campaign in a 2-way role.

Avdija averaged almost 10 points, 6.5 boards, 3 assists, and steal in 76 matches for the organization in the past campaign. He began from the 1^st minute on the court in 40 matches – after having started the same number of games in his 1^st 2 campaigns combined.

The forward finished with 11 double-doubles last campaign, twice the number he had in his 1^st 2 campaigns.

He played for Maccabi Tel Aviv before joining the league in 2020.
