The Ballon d’Or will change drastically from 2024 onwards as it was announced UEFA will co-organise the event along with French media company Groupe Amaury.
New awards for men’s and women’s coaches will be introduced with the new deal.
The Ballon d’Or ceremony has been organised for many years by France Football, but Group Amaury, which owns France Football, has opted to partner with UEFA.

“Together, UEFA and Groupe Amaury aim to enhance the stature and global reach of the awards while fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within the football community,” said a UEFA statement.
The voting system will remain unchanged as UEFA revealed it plans to “contribute its football expertise, market the global commercial rights and organise the annual awards gala.”
“For almost 70 years, the Ballon d’Or has stood as the most prestigious individual accolade in the world of football and is a testament to the extraordinary skill, dedication, and impact of the game’s legends and their enduring mark on the sport’s history,” said UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.
