Barcelona will be without Frenkie de Jong for approximately three to four weeks, while Pedri is expected to recover in about five to six weeks, as reported by “AS” in light of the official information released by the club regarding the injuries of the two players.
The midfielders sustained injuries in the recent match against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
Medical examinations revealed that De Jong has a sprained right ankle, while Pedri suffered an injury to the right quadriceps femoris muscle. Barcelona’s press release did not specify the duration of their treatment.
It is certain that both players will miss the crucial Champions League round of 16 second-leg match against Napoli (following a 1-1 draw in the first leg) scheduled for March 12 in the Catalan capital. Barcelona’s upcoming matches include fixtures against Mallorca (March 8), Atletico Madrid (March 17), and Las Palmas (March 30).
