Barcelona have been dealt a major blow ahead of this weekend’s El Clasico with Real Madrid as one of their main midfielders, Pedri, has been “practically ruled out” according to the latest reports from Sport.
The 20-year-old has been out since mid-August after picking up a hamstring injury and was expected to be back in October. However, his recovery has been slower than expected and Barcelona have decided not to risk him for the game against Real Madrid on Saturday.
With Pedri out for two months and given the intensity of the Clasico, the Catalans will not take any chances with him. The best the Catalans can hope for is for Pedri to return to full training at some point during the week. Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong are also dealing with injuries and are a question mark ahead of the derby.
