RB Saquon Barkley, faced with the realization that his upcoming match at the end of the weekend could be his final match with the NY Giants, today reiterated his desire to remain with the franchise and to end his career with them.
“I’ve shared before that I want to be a Giant for Life,” the running back admitted. “That was a goal of mine when I got selected in the NFL. I wanted to be remembered here, but it’s not up to me.”
Saquon (26) is playing this campaign on a revised franchise tag and is set to become a free agent after the team’s final match on Sunday. The running back added that he doesn’t know what the NFL franchise from the Big Apple plans for him.
The Giants have the option to use a second franchise tag on the running back at 12.1 million dollars.
“I’ve mentioned before that I wanted to be a Giant for life. I wanted to leave a legacy here, but it’s out of my control. Me saying I want to be a Giant for life like I did last year doesn’t help or doesn’t hurt.”
