The Bavarians showed no mercy on their home ground

Bayern Munich trashed Schalke 04 6-0 at the Allianz Arena to pull 4 points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who play later in the afternoon.

Thomas Muller opened the scoring for the Bundesliga leaders in the 21st minute.

Eight minutes later the lead was doubled through Joshua Kimmich’s penalty kick.

The Bavarians refused to step off the gas as goals from Serge Gnabry in quick succession in the second half made it 4-0.

Substitute Mathys Tel, who came in Gnabry’s place, made it 5-0, before right-back Noussair Mazraoui rounded it off Schalke’s miserable afternoon by making it 6-0 in stoppage time.

Thomas Tuchel’s men add another crucial 3 points to their tally and are now 4 ahead of their main rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2nd. There are 2 round remaining in the Bundesliga and it is all to play for if the yellow team manages to bag the 3 points against Borussia Monchengladbach.
