Serbia’s Novak Djokovic is once again the main favorite for the men’s title at Wimbledon, his former coach and three-time winner of the tournament Boris Becker said.
Djokovic, 36, is unbeaten in 28 Grand Slam matches on grass since 2018 and will be looking for a fifth consecutive title and eighth overall.
If he lifts the trophy, he will equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slam titles and remain in contention for all four Slam titles within a calendar year.
“He has already won seven times in London, even though grass was not his favorite surface at the beginning of his career,” Becker told DPA.
“He has learned to play grass tennis over the years and the amount of titles shows that Wimbledon is now his favorite tournament after the Australian Open. He is very strong at Wimbledon, especially in recent years,” added the German legend.
