José Mourinho has got back home and he will be the new manager of Benfica, the team revealed today.
Mourinho inked a 2-year contract with the Eagles less than 3 weeks after Fenerbahce dismissed him.
The Lisbon giants announced that Mourinho’s deal includes a special clause that will allow both sides, after the end of the current campaign, to decide to end the contract, and he will continue as head coach only if that doesn’t happen.
Jose was eliminated by Benfica in the playoffs for the main stage of the UCL, and that led to his dismissal by his former Turkish team. Now, he will take the place of Bruno Lage at the helm of the Eagles, as the previous head coach of the team was dismissed 2 days ago when he lost to Qarabag at home 3-2 despite having a 2-0 lead.
