Karim Benzema shared that his new club in the SPL, Al-Hilal, is the “Real Madrid in Asia” right after completing a controversial transfer from rivals Al-Ittihad. While the forward wants to win more trophies, the move is rumored to infuriated the superstar of Al-Nassr Cristiano Ronaldo, who tried everything to stop the transfer.
After his transfer became official, the French star immediately revealed that his new team’s ambitions in Asia are like those of his former team, Real Madrid, in Europe. Benzema played 14 years for Los Blancos before continuing his journey in the Middle East.
“It feels great to become an Al-Hilal player,” the forward shared. “After my 1st training with my teammates, I’m glad to have moved here. It is a fantastic club with a rich history. Al-Hilal have won a lot of silverware.”
Benzema added that it is similar to his ex-club Real Madrid, but in Asia: “Everything is at the highest level. We have amazing supporters, good footballers, and the mentality is right.”
Karim also shared that he liked his current team from before, as he faced them while being part of Los Blancos.
