Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller surrendered to police in the Dallas suburb of Glenn Heights on Thursday, following charges in a warrant related to domestic violence against the mother of his children, who is currently pregnant, as confirmed by Dallas police.
Miller, a 34-year-old veteran, faces a third-degree felony assault charge for the alleged incident that took place on Wednesday. This offense carries a potential penalty of 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to a police affidavit, Miller is accused of putting his hands on the woman’s neck twice, pulling out a chunk of her hair, and throwing her onto a couch. The victim received treatment for minor injuries, including bruising on her neck.
After posting a $5,000 bond at the DeSoto Regional Jail in his hometown, Miller was released. Despite the serious allegations, he did not respond to a text message from The Associated Press seeking comment.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed the warrant for Von Miller, which was initially reported by WFAA in Dallas.
