Wild’s Joel Eriksson Ek was called for hooking with fewer than 3 minutes to play, and O’Reilly’s 24th goal forced overtime, but in the OT, Minnesota’s risk with the goalie paid off, and they won.
Today marked the 1,000th match played by Minnesota at Xcel Energy Center. The venue opened in 2000.
Nashville will face the Jets in Winnipeg on Wednesday, while Minnesota will welcome the Coyotes on Tuesday.
