Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke is unwilling to reduce the €150 million price tag set for England international Jude Bellingham. The favorite for Bellingham’s signature is Real Madrid, but the management of the German club does not consider it easy to carry out the transfer, writes the Spanish newspaper “AS”.
19-year-old Jude Bellingham has a contract with Borussia until 2025, and the club is in no rush to part with him this summer. Watzke’s logic is that Real Madrid paid 80 million euros plus 20 million in bonuses for Aurelien Tchouameni, and just a few months ago Chelsea paid 120 million euros for Enzo Fernandez.
Such examples will be used by the management of the Dortmund team, and Watzke’s idea is to trigger bidding for the player. “Although Bellingham’s intention is to move to Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund can keep him for one more season and sell him in the summer of 2024 to avoid loosing him as a free agent in 2025,”, “AS” reports.
