Grizzlies are receiving the Atlanta Hawks’ 2027 2nd round selection and the Dallas Mavericks’ 2030 2nd round pick as part of the exchange, while Xavier will go to the Celtics in the existing 6.2 million dollar trade exception.
He is averaging 6 points and almost 5 boards for the Grizzlies in 34 matches this campaign. While Tillman has problems with his shot, his defensive skills are impressive, as he has over 1 steal and 1 block in 20 minutes per match.
This will give opportunities to manager Joe Mazzulla alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Luke Kornet at the heart of the Celtics defense.
Boston did the same in the past campaign when they acquired Mike Muscala from OKC at the last moment.
