Celtics will need another win in New York if they want to bring back the battle to TD Garden

The Boston Celtics bounced back in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, crushing the New York Knicks 115-93 to cut the series deficit to 2-1. After struggling with their shooting in the first two games, the Celtics rediscovered their 3-point rhythm, hitting 20 of 40 from deep—led by Jayson Tatum and Payton Pritchard, who each nailed five triples.

Tatum looked more like his All-Star self with a well-rounded 22-point, nine-rebound, seven-assist performance, while Pritchard’s 23 points off the bench provided a major spark. Boston built a 31-point lead and never gave the Knicks a chance to mount another second-half rally like they had in Games 1 and 2.

The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson’s 27 points and a strong double-double from Karl-Anthony Towns (21 points, 15 rebounds), but the rest of the team struggled to keep pace with Boston’s hot shooting. New York now faces pressure to respond in Game 4 on Monday and avoid a series tie heading back to TD Garden for Game 5.
