Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce will not play for the next two to four weeks, the team announced.
“It’s bad news for Brett. I was hoping he would only be out for a few days, but unfortunately that’s not the case. His situation is not what we were hoping for,” Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour said.
Not the news you wanted to hear from Brind’Amour on Brett Pesce who is dealing with a lower-body injury. Says at this point, Svetch is close to returning and it will be up to Andrei when he returns. Pesce underwent surgery on Tuesday to fix the problem in his leg. In five games since the beginning of the season, the defenseman has a goal and an assist, but did not take part in Carolina’s last two games. Last season, he played in all 82 regular-season games in the NHL, registering five goals and 25 assists, and added two more goals and four assists in 15 playoff games.
