Panarin notches in OT as Rangers beat Hurricanes 3-2 in Game 3

New York took a 3-0 series lead against Carolina after tonight’s victory.

Artemi Panarin scored just 1:43 into OT, and the NY Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC, to take a 3-0 lead in the 2nd-round matchup.

Panarin netted after Hurricanes defenseman Dmitry Orlov lost control of the puck. Vincent Trocheck collected it at the corner and provided it to Artemi who beat defenseman and finished the job for the triumph.

New York, which is 7-0 in the playoffs after sweeping the Capitals in the 1st round, can complete the sweep in Game 4 at PNC Arena at the beginning of the weekend.

Chris Kreider and Alexis LaFreniere also notched for the NHL franchise from the Big Apple, and Igor Shesterkin stopped 45 shots.

Jake Guentzel scored in the 1st period for the Hurricanes, while Andrei Svechnikov evened it with 1:36 left to force OT. Kotchetkov stopped 22 shots.
