The San Antonio Spurs came out on top against the Phoenix Suns 132-121 in a hard-fought match on Thursday night.
Most of that was thanks to the brilliance of teenage sensation Victor Wembanyama, who scored 38 points to help his team overcome what promised to be an epic comeback.

San Antonio were leading by 27 points, but it all evaporated as Phoenix reduced the deficit. But up stepped Wembanyama, scoring 10 out of Spurs’ next 12 points.
“Someone’s got to do it,” Wembanyama said. “Tomorrow it might be one of my teammates.”
“He’s a multi-faceted player — he’ll pass to the open guy,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “He’s got confidence in himself. He made some plays that were unbelievable. That combination is pretty good.”
Devin Booker returned from foot injury for the Suns and he had a very solid performance with 31 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds. Kevin Durant finished the game with 28 points, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.
