Less than a year ago LeBron James' son suffered a cardiac arrest with his University of Southern California team

Bronny James, son of NBA icon LeBron James, has announced his decision to enter the 2024 NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility, less than a year after facing a cardiac arrest scare.

The 19-year-old guard had a harrowing health incident in July while training with his University of Southern California (USC) team, experiencing cardiac arrest. Swift medical intervention saw him hospitalized and placed in intensive care, but he remarkably recovered and was discharged within three days. Bronny received medical clearance to rejoin his team after four months of recuperation.

In an Instagram post, Bronny reflected on his journey, acknowledging the challenges and growth he experienced over the past year. He expressed gratitude to USC for his freshman year and conveyed appreciation to his support network, including family, friends, medical professionals, and fans.

His decision to enter the NBA draft while retaining college eligibility marks a significant step in his basketball career. Bronny’s aspirations align with his father’s previous remarks about potentially playing alongside him in the NBA, a dream scenario that LeBron James, a four-time NBA champion, has openly entertained.

LeBron, recognized as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has continued to make history in the NBA, recently achieving the remarkable milestone of scoring 40,000 career points.

The 2024 NBA draft, where Bronny aims to make his mark, is scheduled for June 26-27, setting the stage for the next chapter in his basketball journey.
