The Boston team looked the better side all round and deservedly won

The Boston Bruins came out on top against the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 to continue their unbeaten run since the season’s start on Saturday night.

Brad Marchand scored 2 goals, while David Pastrnak had a goal and 3 points, which made him the first Boston player in 21 years to score a goal in the opening 4 games of the season.

Morgan Geekie scored the go-ahead goal in the second period for the Bruins, who are off to their first 4-0 start since 1990-91.

“I think we started to get more physical. We got emotion into our game. … And then I think we just wore out the back of the net,” Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. “We held onto pucks. I think we really saw the type of team we believe we can be.”

Alex Laferriere scored for Los Angeles to put them level at 1-1, before quickfire goals from Geekie and Marchand put Bruins back ahead.

Carl Grundstrum had a power-play goal late in the third period for Los Angeles, while goaltender Cam Talbot made 21 saves, as LA’s 2-game winning streak ended.
